How to load files from local storage

Hi,
I've just started using Matillion for Snowflake and I'm trying to load data from some local xls files into tables I've already created in Snowflake.

I don't know which components I can use to set this up.

Can I get some help please?

Thanks.

Hi Tam

There’s no option to load local files unfortunately. Files must either be on S3 or Azure Blob Storage, depending if you’re on AWS or Azure.

Unfortunately .xls files aren’t supported either. I would use a python script to convert the file to .xlsx or to .csv and then upload the file to S3/Azure Blob Storage and use the Excel Query component or S3 Load to load the file down to Snowflake.

Thanks
Laura

Thank you Laura.

Look like I will need some technical help on this one then, since I'm new to both Snowflake and S3. I did see Joe Steadman's email about offering a free 1-hour technical workshop, so I think I'll take him up on that offer.

Thanks.
Tam
