How to set up SSH for the instance

We followed the instructions for Launching Matillion ETL for Snowflake - AWS. Our instance is up and running. Looking at the EC2 instance, there is even a key pair associated with it. We don't remember being asked to save the private key, or generate a key pair at all. We are wondering how to get that private key, so that we can ssh into the instance. We've even tried running a Bash Script component inside Matillion, but we find there is no .ssh directory in the default execution path, so we are out of ideas. Did we miss some instructions when setting the instance up? Is there a way to now get the private key up on the instance?

Thanks,
Johnny

Hi Johnny,
AWS EC2 console will always ask for a key pair as the last step before starting the instance if you go through the console to spin up an instance.
Take a look at this doc showing how to connect if you lose they private key
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-key-pairs.html#replacing-lost-key-pair

Paul

Hi Paul,

We were able to go back and find the private key in our browser downloads, thanks.
