Replace existing job without losing job schedules

We've a Matillion VM for Development and another for Production.

We do incremental versions in Dev and when we're done, we export the modified jobs to a JSON file and then we want to import them in Production. When importing, there's no "override" feature and it creates new jobs with "(2)" at the end. How do we replace the jobs in Production?

If we delete the job, then the schedules that fires the job lose its configuration and we don't want to be configuring them all the time.

Hi Josep -

You are correct. Unfortunately, there is no ‘update’ capability. You would need to update the schedules manually, either with the new job name if you’re not deleting in advance, or with the existing job name again, if you are. Some customers tackle this process using the Matillion API, effectively performing the same steps, but doing so in an automated fashion.

The Matillion API – v1 support page lists a few examples of how to interact with the API, and the API v1 Map support page lists out the available endpoints.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
